But I say, 'Never fail to requite the benevolence of even half a meal. English Dojeon 2편 40장 3~4절 * Enlightenment is the ultimate requital of heaven and earth's benevolence. English Dojeon 6편 82장 5절   ▣ 7회 The Way to the Qi of Life (살 기운을 얻는 길!) * Since you suffer in this turbulent and wicked world keep your mind true, refine your qi, practice dao earnestly, practice dao earnestly, and attend to your body's well-being  for this is the way to attain the qi of life .        이 어지럽고 악한 세상을 당하여 마음을 바르게 하고 기운을 가다듬어 도를 잘 닦고 몸을 편안히 하는 것이 곧 살 기운을 얻는 길이니라.   ▣ 8회 The Sixty-Year Devotion of Ancestral Spirits 선령의 음덕! * 인생의 소중함과 언제나 나를 보살펴 주시는 조상님들에 대한 가르침.    It takes infinite dedication for heaven to beget a human being    하늘이 사람을 낼 때에 무한한 공부를 들이나니        Ancestral spirits devote more than sixty years     to begetting a single worthy descendant,     but even then, there are many spirits     who fail to beget any descendants at all     그러므로 모든 선령신(先靈神)들이 쓸 자손 하나씩 타내려고     60년 동안 공을 들여도 못 타내는 자도 많으니라.   ▣ 9회 Pray in This Way to Heaven and Earth Before Every Meal,                                                                                    식고! * 식사를 하기 전에 천지부모이신 상제님과 태모님       그리고 조상님들께 감사의 기도를 드리는 증산도의 신앙 예법       식고(食告)!       만유생명의 어머니이신 태모님께서 말씀하신 식고(食告)를       영어로 배워본다.         You receive your sustenance through heaven and earth＇s grace,       so when you pray before a meal, pray in this way       너희들이 천지의 음덕으로 녹(祿)을 먹게 되었으니       식고를 할 때에는 반드시 이와 같이 고(告)하라         I am grateful for receiving this sustenance       through the grace of heaven and earth.       천지의 음덕으로 녹을 먹으니 감사하옵나이다         ancestral spirits, your humble descendant       desires a communion with you through this meal.       불초 자손의 식상(食床)이나 선령께서 하감(下鑑)하옵소서!             I humbly beg forgiveness for all my sins       잘못된 죄를 용서하여 주시옵소서         감사의 기도에 이어 참회의 기도를 하라는 태모님의 말씀속에서       식고의 기도는   생활 신앙, 평생 신앙의 출발점임을       깨닫게 할 소중한 시간.              I Love English Dojeon Episode 9.     ▣ 10회  수신(修身)의 도(道)! Cultivating Yourself * 몸과 마음을 어떻게 닦아야   대인의 길을 갈 수 있는가에 대한 상제님의 가르침          내 한 몸의 잘 가짐이 천금보다 소중하니    Self-cultivation is more precious than a thousand pieces of gold.    순간의 편안함과 위태로움이 마음가짐에 달려 있느니라    Each moment’s peace or crisis depends on your mindset.    마음 지키기가 죽기보다 어려우니라.    Maintaining a steadfast mind is harder than dying.       사람 마음이 열두 가지로 변하나니,    The mind is apt to change in twelve different ways,    오직 송죽(松竹)처럼 한마음을 잘 가지라.    so keep your mind as steadfast as pine and bamboo.      무릇 대인을 배우는 자는    To become a noble human:    천하 사람의 장점을 취하고 천하 사람의 단점을 버리라.    Adopt the merits of all people; Forgo the faults of all people.    우리가 일생을 살아가며 반드시 실천해야 될 가르침      I Love English Dojeon Episode 10.     ▣ 11회 일심(一心) One Mind    모든 성공의 열쇠, 일심 어떻게 해야 일심을 갖고 살 수 있을까?   이제 모든 일에 성공이 없는 것은 일심(一心) 가진 자가 없는 연고라.    Absence of success in any matter    stems from the absence of people with one mind.      만일 일심만 가지면 못 될 일이 없나니   그러므로 무슨 일을 대하든지 일심 못함을 한할 것이요     If you possess one mind,    no accomplishment lies beyond your ability.    Lament your own lack of one mind in any matter.     못 되리라는 생각은 품지 말라.     Never believe that you will not succeed.     혈심자(血心者)가 한 사람만 있어도 내 일은 성사되느니라.     If but one of you possesses a passionate mind,    My work will be accomplished.     복마(伏魔)를 물리치는 것이 다른 데 있지 않고 일심을 잘 갖는 데   있나니, 일심만 가지면 항마(降魔)가 저절로 되느니라.   The key to conquering lurking demons lies simply in possessing   one mind. If you possess one mind, you will conquer all demons   effortlessly.     우리가 일생을 살아가며 반드시 실천해야 될 가르침     I Love English Dojeon Episode 11.     ▣ 12회 Heaven's Providence for Imposing Hardship 고난의 섭리   인생은 고난과 시련의 연속, 하지만 그 고난과 시련을 극복했을 때   하늘과 땅이 인정하는 참 인간으로 성숙할 수 있다. 하루는 성도들에게   맹자(孟子) 한 절을 외워 주시며 말씀하시기를  “이 글을 잘 보아 두면   이 책에서는 더 볼 것이 없느니라.” 하시니 이러하니라   Sangjenim recited the following verses from The Book of Mencius and   revealed, "If you study these verses well, you need study nothing   more from this book."     하늘이 장차 이 사람에게 큰 임무를 내리려 할 때에는   When heaven intends to assign you a momentous task,     반드시 먼저 그 심지를 지치게 하고, 뼈마디가 꺾어지는 고난을 당하게   하며, 그 몸을 굶주리게 하고 그 생활을 빈궁하게 하여 하는 일마다 어지   럽게 하느니라    it first tires your mind and will, torments your sinews and bones with     hardships, makes your body suffer hunger, and afflicts you with     poverty? bringing disorder to all you seek to achieve.     이는 그의 마음을 두들겨서 참을성을 길러 주어   지금까지 할 수 없었던 일도 할 수 있게 하기 위함이니라   This is so that you will develop strength of mind, cultivate    perseverance, and grow to do what you previously could not.     인생을 살아가면서 절대 잊지 말아야 할 상제님 말씀    I Love English Dojeon Episode 12.   ▣ 13회  The Time When Heaven and Earth Work Through Humans                              천지에서 사람 쓰는 이때 形於天地하여 生人하나니 萬物之中에 唯人이 最貴也니라 Born in the image of heaven and earth, the human being is the noblest being in all existence. 하늘과 땅을 형상하여 사람이 생겨났나니 만물 가운데 오직 사람이 가장 존귀하니라   天地生人하여 用人하나니 不參於天地用人之時면 何可曰人生乎아 Heaven and earth beget humans and work through them. At this time when heaven and earth work through humans, how can you be considered a human if you do not take part? 천지가 사람을 낳아 사람을 쓰나니 천지가 사람을 쓰는 이때에 참예하지 않는다면  어찌 그것을 인생이라 할 수 있겠느냐! 일생에 다시없는 기회, 천지가 사람을 쓰는 이때 I Love English Dojeon Episode 13.   ▣ 14회 The Age of Returning to the Origin 이때는 원시반본시대    이때는 원시반본(原始返本)하는 시대라.   Now is the age of returning to the origin.     부모를 경애하지 않으면 천지를 섬기기 어려우니라.    You cannot revere heaven and earth if you do not revere your    parents.     천지는 억조창생의 부모요, 부모는 자녀의 천지니라.     Heaven and earth are the parents of humanity, and parents are the    heaven and earth of their children.     자손이 선령(先靈)을 박대하면 선령도 자손을 박대하느니라.     If a descendent neglects their ancestors, ancestors in turn neglect    the descendant.     이제 인종 씨를 추리는 후천 가을운수를 맞아 선령신을 박대하는 자들은   모두 살아남기 어려우리라.    In this dawn of the Later Heaven’s autumn destiny in which the seeds    of humanity are to be selected, those who neglect their ancestral    spirits will find it impossible to survive.   가을 개벽기에 전 인류의 생사를 결정하는 구원의 진리, 원시반본    I Love English Dojeon Episode 14.       ▣ 15회 Sanggeuk in the Early Heaven 선천은 상극(相克)의 운  선천은 상극(相克)의 운(運)이라  The destiny of sanggeuk underlies the Early Heaven.     상극의 이치가 인간과 만물을 맡아 하늘과 땅에 전란(戰亂)이 그칠 새   없었나니   The principle of sanggeuk has governed all humans and allexistence,   heaven and earth never knowing a single moment free of war,     그리하여 천하를 원한으로 가득 채우므로    and now bitterness and grief fills all the world.     I Love English Dojeon Episode 15.         ▣ 16회 My dao is the great dao of sangsaeng                                              나의 도는 상생(相生)의 대도이니라   나의 도는 상생(相生)의 대도이니라.  My dao is the great dao of sangsaeng.    선천에는 위무(威武)로써 승부를 삼아 부귀와 영화를 이 길에서 구하였나니, 이것이 곧 상극의 유전이라.  People have sought wealth and fame in contests of authority and force, for such is the Early Heaven’s legacy of sanggeuk.   내가 이제 후천을 개벽하고 상생의 운을 열어 선(善)으로 살아가는 세상을 만들리라.  I will bring forth the Later Heaven and its destiny of sangsaeng to build a world in which benevolence is the way of life.   만국이 상생하고 남녀가 상생하며 윗사람과 아랫사람이 서로 화합하고 분수에 따라 자기의 도리에 충실하여 All nations will practice sangsaeng superiors and subordinates will be in harmony and content with their lot in life, comporting themselves in concord with dao.   모든 덕이 근원으로 돌아가리니 대인대의(大仁大義)의 세상이니라.   All virtue will return to its origin, for it will truly be a world of sublime benevolence and righteousness.   상생은 바로 새 하늘 새 땅을 열어주신 상제님의 마음입니다. 나아가 새 하늘 새 땅에서 살아갈 만유 생명의 마음이 상생입니다   상제님과 태모님의 말씀을 영어로 전파합니다. I Love English Dojeon Episode 16.         ▣ 17회 The Medicine Is the Taeeulju Mantra                                                   오는 대개벽기에 약은 태을주  태을주는 수기 저장 주문이니 병이 범치 못하느니라. Disease will not trespass within you, for the Taeeulju Mantra is the mantra for storing water qi.   내가 이 세상 모든 약기운을 태을주에 붙여 놓았느니라. 약은 곧 태을주니라. I have gathered the qi of all medicine into the Taeeulju Mantra ?the medicine is the Taeeulju Mantra.   태모님께서 말씀하시기를  "태을주는 천지 기도문이요,  개벽기에 천하 창생을 건지는 주문이니라." 하시니라. Taemonim declared, "The Taeeulju Mantra is a prayer to heaven and earth, the mantra that will save people throughout the world at the time of gaebyeok."   생명의 주문, 태을주 상제님과 태모님의 말씀을 영어로 전파합니다. I Love English Dojeon Episode 17.     ▣ 18회 The Best of All Flowers     꽃 중에 제일 좋은 꽃  상제님께서는 사람이 많이 있을수록 좋아하시니라.  Sangjenim loved the company of people, the more the better.   임인(壬寅 : 道紀 32, 1902)년에 하루는 상제님께서 아랫목에 앉으시어 윗목에 모인 성도들을 바라보시며 "너희들, 심심하면 심심풀이 좀 해 봐라." 하시거늘  As He was one day  sitting on the floor with His eyes closed,  Sangjenim said to the disciples, "If you are bored, amuse yourselves."    성도들이 꽃타령을 부르니 "너희들은 꽃 중에 무슨 꽃이 좋으냐?" 하고 물으시니라. 이에 누구는 ‘나락꽃이 좋다.’ 하고, 누구는 ‘목화꽃이 좋다.’ 하고, 또 누구는 ‘담배꽃이 좋다.’ 하거늘  So, the disciples sang a song about flowers. Sangjenim asked them, "Of all the world’s flowers, which do you like best?"  "Rice flowers," some answered.  Others said, "Cotton flowers." And some answered, "Tobacco flowers."   상제님께서 말씀하시기를  "방안꽃이 제일이니라. 다른 것은 한 번 보고, 두 번 보고 하면 사랑이 멀어지는 법이나 사람은 볼수록 정이 드는 것이니 참으로 꽃 중에는 인간꽃이 제일이니라." 하시니라.  Sangjenim listened to all of their replies, then declared, "The best of all flowers is in this very room, for the finest of all flowers is the human flower."   우주의 목적을 성취하는 인간꽃 인간꽃이 되려면 무엇부터 시작해야 할까요? 프로그램 속에서 찾아보세요. I Love English Dojeon Episode 18.    ▣ 19회 The World as One Family     세계를 한집안으로 통일   이제 천하를 한집안으로 통일하나니  온 인류가 한가족이 되어 화기(和氣)가 무르녹고   생명을 살리는 것을 덕으로 삼느니라.   I shall unite the whole world into one household, and so all people will become    one family in which harmony abounds and the nurturing of life is the way of life.   장차 천하만방의 언어와 문자를 통일하고 인종의 차별을 없애리라.  I shall bring unity in language and writing to the world  and end discrimination among races. 상제님께서 열어주시는 가을 우주의 신천지는 신과 인간, 인간과 인간, 인간과 만물이 하나로 소통하는 세상입니다.
